We farm Intensively on Bertinasvlei with Dormersheep and extensively with Bonsmara cattle. Rooibos farming enterprises produce meat of organic quality and deliver directly to the public on a monthly basis. Meat are available from our depot at 49 de Havilland Cres Persequor Park Pta. Due to the nature of our bussiness it is advised to place your meatorder well in advance.

Our animals are free range because we believe in honest farming - respectful of God and nature.

Rooibos Dormer and Bonsmara enterprises has been in existence since 2009 and is based on the farm Bertinasvlei near the Wilgespruit in the picturesque Eastern Free State. Here, we farm, live and learn, side by side, me and my husband Izak Venter - farmer, mentor and architect.

The farm's main activity is the Bonsmarastud which Izak passionately manages. His love for the breed originates from  a very young age when he use to spend most of his weekends and holidays on their Bushveld farm where he watched and imitated his father, the late Dr Izak Venter's every move and action.

The sheep farming originated in an encounter with the enigmatic Dr. Karin Wessels from Mamre Dormers. Neighbor, farmer, humble philanthropist. Upon the very first introduction one already senses that her love for animals overshadows any other aspect of the farming aspects. My interest immediately took off and so Rooibos acquired a mere 6 Mamre ewes in 2010 and today, 2017, boasts 150 commercial ewes and 50 stud animals.

The crux of the farm is the Mamre project plan that ensures  the harmony between nature and animals are managed.
